A Step-By-Step Guide To Vacation Prep

The best part before going on vacation!

In my opinion, the best part about going on vacation is the preparation beforehand.

The weeks leading up to vacation for me are filled with preparation that ranges from multiple categories. Recently, I went on vacation to Orlando, Florida.

I spent approximately three weeks prepping for this vacation and it helped me tremendously. During those three weeks, I focused on three main categories.

Hair and nails, outfits and accessories, and lastly hygiene.

For starters, I got my hair done a week before I went on vacation. I chose to get medium individual box braids. This hairstyle worked the best for me because it was low maintenance which is perfect for when I'm on vacation. Choosing the right hairstyle for a vacation can make or break your trip in my opinion. Personally, I wouldn't want to spend every day trying to do my hair on vacation. Whenever I go on vacation, I try to plan out all of my activities so that I can decide on my hairstyle ahead of time.

Next, I've been taking a break from acrylic nails for the time being. For this vacation, I decided to get press on's and this saved me a lot of money.

If you decide to do this the next time you go on vacation, I recommend getting the pink nail glue with a kiss! My nails stayed on for the majority of the vacation due to this glue.

For my outfits, I spent weeks searching for the best deals before I bought anything in order to save my money. I didn't want to overspend on outfits so I also made a budget before I bought anything as well. I gave myself a budget of $75 for clothes and this worked out perfectly for me. I was on vacation for a week so I definitely had to take that into consideration as well when shopping but everything worked out. I recommend buying your outfits 3 weeks before your trip in order to ensure that everything will make it in time. I also recommend buying outfits that you can see yourself wearing even after vacation. I used most of the accessories that I already owned but I did buy more jewelry that fit into my budget.

For hygiene, I have recently adapted some new products into my routine. I have been very consistent with my routine but I was worried that vacation would ruin that. Vacation actually did the opposite. For example, when I go on vacation I personally tend to do my makeup more therefore making me more inclined to indulge in my routine.

My advice for staying consistent with your hygiene routine while on vacation is to get travel-size versions of your products so that you can bring your entire routine.
